Timo Bracht

  • The 39 year old German Defending Champ is extremely focused on this particular race.
  • Brach almost won in 2013 but for a bike breakdown.
  • Winning time of 7:56 in bad conditions.

Dirk Bockel

  • The 2013 Champ finished a disappointing 6th in 2014.
  • Now 38 years old, Bockel went 7:52 in 2013.

Andrew Starykowicz

  • The brash bike beast will head to Germany this year, unafraid of foreign prison. If he can avoid volunteers and nutrition gaffes, he is a major threat particularly if cooler conditions prevail.
  • The proper Starky is the only American to go sub-8 in an iron distance event.
  • Holds Ironman bike course record.

Nils Fromhold

  • Rising star won IM Arizona in 2013, in 2014 he won in Ironman South Africa and then finished sixth at the Ironman World Championship.
  • Went 8 hours in Roth last year, just 4.5 minutes behind Bracht.

Laura Bennett

  • The 2 time Olympian took second last year at the inaugural Ironman Boulder.
  • The former Olympic distance specialist was runner-up ITU World Champ in 2003.

Gina Crawford

  • The Kiwi took 8th in Kona in 2014 and is a force to be reckoned with.
  • No stranger to the Challenge Family, Gina won Challenge Wanaka (perhaps the most beautiful course in the world) six times in a row.
